1946 MG TC

Here is a near concours TC with a very interesting history.

A chassis-up rebuild with impeccable attention to detail and an unusual early history.

Model Type
2-seat sports
Registration No.
FHV 433
Engine No.
XPAG 319241
Chassis No.
TC 0426

A fascinating TC that was part of an early batch of TCs exported to Ceylon (possibly as Police Cars) but this is being determined.       The car was returned in 1952 and fitted with the XPAG engine it still carries to this day,  and all as recorded on the original 1952 buff log book that accompanies the car, being first registered in Tynemouth with the No. FHV 433.

The car spent most of its early lie in the North East, eventually ending up in poor but very original condition in S.H. Richardson's yard at Staines, Middx.   It then moved to the home counties eventually being purchased by a very old customer of mine,  who rebuilt the car completely to his usual impeccable standard, with accurate attention to detail and maintaining original equipment and bodywork wherever possible.

From here this beautfully restored car moved to one further owner from 2013 until now, and he maintained it and possiby further improved it, though little if anything would have needed doing.

It is always ifficult to describe a car in near concours condition , as everything has been done,  and done properly for you, as the photographs clearly show.  It is as good if not better in the flesh.  Having covered  just under 3000 miles, it is ample to have ironed out any bugs, and on test here it drove, stopped and steered  beautifully.

Altogether a magnifcent rebuild of the ever popular MG TC;  and being an all-matching Nos. car with a fascinating history and a mound of paperwork  to accompany the car, it will give years of pleasure with its ease of maintenance and amazing spares availabilty.
