There have been many J4 authentic recreations over the years, and I've sold many of them,  but very few, if any, have reached the specification of a genuine J4 Midget.   This example is as close to an original factory original as I have seen.

Built on an MG J2 chassis with 12 inch J4 cable brakes,  split track rod Bishop Cam steering , Duplex shock absorbers, steel 4-star differential with strengthened rear axle casing and front axle anti-tramp cables.

Moving to the engine, the 57mm bored block is fitted with a fully counter-balanced crankshaft, Corello pattern con-rods and Cosworth pistons to produce the original 746cc capacity,  mounted via a high ratio cross-tube ENV gate-change gearbox and supercharged from an original Marshall 75 and an HV5 carburettor.   Ki-gass injection for rapid starting, from twin fuel pumps and larger J4 tank.    The operational bulkhead oil tank feeds the sump mounted fuel float as original.   An excellent 'Brooklands' exhaust system with fish tail completes the mechanics.

The dashboard is fully fitted to J4 specification, including Hobson Teleguages, Ki-gass pump, J4 dashlamps and the correct lever switches.   Oil temp, oil pressure, water temp., ampmeter, clock  and s/charger gauges compliment the large 6 inch 0-8000 rev. counter.

The bodywork is superb, as is the quality cellulose BRG paintwork, and is fitted with the smaller 16" st. wheel;  a full windshield, aero-screens, bonnet belt and quick release filler caps.  The Collingburn interior includes adjustable Connolly hide bucket seats  and arm rests as fitted to the J4, while a full double duck roof and tonneau cover  complete this magnificent 85mph+ MG.

Full paperwork for home or export, incl. original Registration No.,  factory chassis file, V5c, and both MMM & VSCC registered.

The car is now ready for sale, so do make an appointment to view & test.   Door to door Worldwide delivery.
