Whilst well over a thousand 'L1', 4-seat tourers left the factory between 1933 & 1934, only 90 original 2-seat models (designated 'L2')  were produced in this period and are highly sought-after,  rarely coming to the market, especially in the exceptional condition, and with the originality of this example.

Chassis No. L2013 was found as a wreck in 1997, but luckily complete with the correct body, engine and gearbox.   Subsequently this car was slowly and accurately restored from the ground-up.  A complete chassis rebuild was undertaken with new hubs, rebuilt diff., rebuilt 12" brakes, rebuilt steering and new shock absorbers.

The  'straight-six' L/K engine was the basis of the K3 racing engine and developed by the Abingdon Factory Racing Dept. from the standard 'L' engine giving buyers of the 'L' model great confidence in the power unit these cars received. Indeed it has proved a very powerful engine and the one installed in this L2 is no exception, producing 50-55BHP.  The rare addition of a overdrive unit (ex Barry Dene) fitted to the close ratio gearbox and high ratio 8:39 differential , together with an Alpine 'L' series carburettor inlet manifold allows  this car to achieve 80mph with ease.

The body is the original,....... but completely restored,  and accounts for the authentic line and accurate shape as seen from the photographs reflected in the perfect door 'shuts',  and exact bonnet fit, often lacking in so many rebuilds.

The dashboard sports the factory- offered 'de-luxe' gauges incl. the speedo/ rev.counter, cluster panel, water temperature gauge and the 8-day clock.   Very neat and discreet turn signals in the side & rear lamps are operated from a switch & tell-tail light barely seen below the dash,   while the horn button still carries the very rare rear view mirror found only on the J2/F2 and L2 models.     The dash is completed by the smaller 16" Blumels 'Brooklands' steering wheel, providing more room on entry and in the cab generally.

The 2 comfortable bucket seats and interior are beautifully upholstered in light grey leather which contrasts perfectly with the superb 'Ocean Blue' exterior paintwork.    The bodywork is completed with a black canvas roof and full matching tonneau cover.

Finally the car carries a full w/screen and period aero-screens.    A bonnet belt with fittings is included but not yet fitted.

The new owner will receive a huge history file, the orig. buff log book, factory chassis file, Instruction manual,  V5c and its original Registration No. from new.

With acceptance of the current market, the rarity of this car,  and its superb condition the price has been reduced to £55,000 or a very near offer.   Just come and see it,  and we'll go for a test to show you the balance & performance of the 6 cylinder Magna engine.
